I posted about this truck !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and now I found more pics of it. I'm now totally in love. This thing but in black would be beyond perfect. I even got the wife on board now the only thing holding me back is the negative equity I have on my current car. I will NOT roll it into a new loan I've done that before and regretted ever since. So this will have to remain a fantasy for now. I have a baby on the way I can't afford to be stupid with my money.

I kind of object to this on philosophical grounds, however, ill agree that it looks good.

Best way to do it would be with air bags or hydraulics, but that does look pretty damn good. I'm even partial to it in this color; murdered out is not for me.

I'm all for lowering 2WD trucks - done right, of course (Bags, roll pans, etc)
Those Denali wheels are perfect on that Sierra too.
I'm partial to the Tjin Edition F-150

I'm not a truck guy at all, but I love the look of a lowered full size. I've always wanted a F150 on air....or an SRT-10 on air. Love me some viper truck.

Where are you finding these pictures?

I was thinking about this thing on and off today, I wonder if a lower ride height helps with mileage at all.

Came here for a lowered Sierra, left disappointed.

I'm sure it helps a bit since you will be lowering drag(I think) mote air will be going over the truck and less underneath. but I'm sure the difference is minimal, like maybe 0.5 mpg better or something.

typed in google Lowered 2o14 sierra. clicked on a picture and when you do that it normaly shows what I think is 6 similar pictures beside it and bam! this was in one of the related pictures.
to make it sure I found it by dumb luck.

That F150 is freaking SICK!!!

Sorry to disapoint my non North American friend.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 09:24 |

Yeah I'd imagine the difference is negligible

If you gotta have a truck for truck stuff... not including anything more rural than this flat dirt road....
That is the way to do it (although I would black out the B-pillar between the front and rear door glass)
But seriously... a road car doesn't need to be that big... but whatever floats, or tows your boat.
And a truck is usually somewhat expected to do at least light off-roading... without getting high-centered on a speed bump in a parking lot.

Agreed. I am not a truck guy at all either.
When F150 Tremor came out last year (evidently 1 year only, now that 2015 is a new truck, without this model), I thought it was a good start, but not quite enough.
It is an interesting concept, but as a sport truck it should be slightly lower. Airbags would be better, because it could be functional at this height, but park or cruise on the highway at a lower height.
But really, as a sport truck... how awesome would it be if this truck had Raptor-like bodywork, with the sport-truck underpinnings... sort of like a new SVT Lightning.
People buy SVT Raptors, and there is one near me that I NEVER see dirty... likely never sets a tire off the road in a real sense... why bother with the expensive off-road stuff, if it never gets used... why not get a similar look, with a street-sport-truck configuration... Lowered, without the skid plate, street-oriented wheels and tires, body-colored flared fenders and bumper, but still wide body, with the vented hood and the aggressive grille.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 10:35 |

That is cool... Raptor wide-body and similar bumper cover, but a lowered street truck.
All it needs is the vented hood, although I can see why they like the smooth one.

I bet that air dam actually works when the truck is that low to the ground.
I don't know why more people don't love this look.

when I lifted my truck, my mileage tanked. Like from 14-15 to 12.5. I also had new gears put in but they are only 7% under so i can't imagine its all due to that.

Just no.

stance looks pretty bad, but lowered looks amazing. Brings me memories of the syclone
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:26 |

Question: how much does a truck like that cost to be lowered? I can't imagine that it's cheap.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:28 |

Buy lotto ticket
Win
Lowered sierra + 911 cup car and trailer
What equity?
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:29 |

Oh shit I never noticed the Raptor wide body until you pointed it out. Now I like it even more.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:29 |

I'll sell ya one. ;)
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:33 |

It's actually really cheap. This is the exact lowering kit that is on this truck.
And DJM makes one that retains the factory struts that is even cheaper. It's only $545.00.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:34 |
|
I'd want mine exactly like this one.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:36 |
|
very interesting, I did not know it was so cheap. The way it makes the truck look is amazing and the price can't be beat!
![]() 02/26/2015 at 16:39 |
|
Exactly! At that price if you even remotely like lowered trucks you would be crazy not to do it. You can easily install it in a driveway over a weekend with basic hand tools and it is 100% reversible so if you ever decide you don't like it anymore just change it back.

This thing but in black would be beyond perfect .

nice to know. I looked at lowering springs for my 03 Focus (not that I would lower it, too many speedbumps) but for only $250 I could lower it 2 inches
![]() 02/26/2015 at 18:25 |
|
I drive a similar truck, but mine is a crew cab / 4x4.
The biggest thing you can do to improve mpgs is slow down. Anything over about 60 mph and it just drinks fuel. Lowering it a few inches may help, but probably not much.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 18:29 |
|
I have a hugely irrational attraction to lowered regular cab duallies.
I think they just look cool....
![]() 02/26/2015 at 19:24 |
|
Yup they are insanely awesome. I'd need the bigger cab for my family but if I was single the regular cab would be the best.
It's even cooler when you make a tow truck out of it.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 22:16 |

Interesting, that makes sense. I'd imagine the addition of chunky tires was a part of this? I know those don't help.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 22:32 |
|
nope, same tires before and after.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 22:33 |

Well then this would be a good example of what lifting a truck can do to mileage, interesting.
